ANGWIN TO ANGWISH TRAIL RUN
October 25, 2015
The Angwin to Angwish race is about “Community.” It brings people from all over our valley, our county and our state. It brings people together out of love for nature, health, friendship, competition, family, and support. Traditionally the proceeds of this event allows Pacific Union College to grow its service-learning program and teach its students how to improve their world in a responsible and ethical way. In response to the devastating loss in our neighboring communities in Lake County, we, as an institution, have committed to long term support for our neighbors. We have vast and willing resources in our students and faculty, and are, and will continue to be, committed to supporting the disaster relief efforts. We have chosen to use Angwin to Angwish to help raise those funds needed to support our commitment for the Valley Fire recovery. We invite you to join this popular event and be a part of rebuilding our surrounding communities. Bring your family and friends to walk or run in our beautiful forests, and meet our students who will be cheering you along the way. We are all united in this effort to support the victims of the Valley Fire, we hope to see you Sunday Oct 25th for the Angwin to Angwish.
We welcome you to the beautiful trails and gorgeous scenery at the annual Angwin to Angwish trail run. Once a popular and challenging race from the 70′s and 80′s, this event was revived in 2013 and is quickly gaining popularity with both recreational and avid runners alike. We invite you and your family to Angwin and the beautiful campus of Pacific Union College.
We have three distances to choose from to cater to all types of enthusiast.
- Family 4k/Fun run
This year we have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of St Helena and Calistoga to host our Family 4k/Fun run. This is a wonderful opportunity to walk, jog, or run a simple but beautiful course through meadows and forests. We encourage all families to come participate and experience what we have to offer, while supporting our local Boys and Girls Club.
Our 12k and 24k courses are a mixture of fire roads, switchbacks, and single track with have an elevation gain of 1000′ per 12k lap. Everyone will be running through the groves of Pine, Oak, Redwood, and Manzanita as they navigate the sometimes rugged terrain that eventually lead to the famous Angwish Hill. Our Pacific Union College students will be out at every turn to cheer you on your way through the course and safely to the finish, where we will welcome you with cheers, music, and great food.
Yes, this place exists – only 10 miles from St Helena on Howell Mountain.
We look forward to seeing you in October!
